Digest March 2020

Greetings! March 2020 wasn't the best spring’s beginning we hoped in February. Even inside the admin panel of ROI4CIO the impact of the pandemic is visible: if the early March products and companies are predominantly related to cyber defense, to the end of the month due to quarantine the course has been rapidly changing to solutions that can help to set up remote work more easily.

In March on the site appeared:

  • 53 companies. These are vendors offering endpoints protection and response, suppliers of instant messengers and platforms for time tracking.
  • 62 IT-products. Here are solutions for endpoints protection, forensic, analysis and response, communication platforms, remote workflow monitoring.
  • Time Tracking Software category (you can guess, that it’ve appeared in the end of month). Here are the solutions that allow employees to record the time they spend on tasks and projects.
  • Three comparison tables were created: EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response), Instant Messaging and Time Tracking Software.

EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) compares:

  • Crowdstrike Falcon Insight: streams threat detection and response lifecycle with speed, automation, and unrivaled visibility;
  • Cylance Optics: an AI-driven EDR component that provides consistent endpoint visibility for root cause analysis, threat hunting, incident response and containment;
  • ESET Enterprise Inspector: complete prevention, detection and response solutions for quick analysis and remediation of any security issue in the network;
  • Fidelis Endpoint: deep visibility into all endpoint activity — in real-time and retrospectively, simplify threat hunting and detection;
  • McAfee MVISION EDR: helps you get ahead of modern threats with AI-guided investigations that surface relevant risks and automate and remove the manual labor of gathering and analyzing evidence;
  • Palo Alto Networks Traps: stops threats on endpoints and coordinates enforcement with network and cloud security to prevent successful cyberattacks;
  • SentinelOne ActiveEDR: allows security teams to quickly understand the story and root cause behind threat actors and autonomously respond, without any reliance on cloud resources.
  • Symantec Endpoint Detection and Response: exposes advanced attacks with precision machine learning and global threat intelligence minimizing false positives and helps ensure high levels of productivity for security teams.

Instant Communications Applications compares:

  • Microsoft Teams: work remotely without feeling remote, meet with teams of 10 or 10,000. Host audio, video, and web conferences with anyone inside or outside your organization or go big with live events.
  • Lark: combines a multitude of essential collaboration tools in a single interconnected platform, including Chat, Calendar, Creation and Cloud storage. These functions are always in sync and are easy access from one to the next.

  • Workplace by Facebook: an enterprise connectivity platform developed by Facebook, Inc. and featuring tools like groups, instant messaging and News Feed.
  • ClickTime: track time on your phone or laptop, quickly approve employee hours, or dive into dashboards and reports that make it easy to manage budgets and plan employee time;
  • DeskTime: starts and stops working when you do, from the minute you turn on the computer, to the minute you turn it off. No manual data entries — DeskTime tracks and calculates productivity automatically for you;
  • Everhour: all products features represented by a simple list: time tracking, integrations, project management, expenses, invoicing, resource planning and more;
  • Hubstaff: an employee time tracking software with screenshots, reporting and automated payments;
  • RescueTime: helps you understand where your time goes each day, works in the background on your computer, phone, and tablet to show you exactly how you spend your time (no manual entry required);
  • TimeCamp: a simple and robust time tracking app to help you stay on the same page with your team while working from home;
  • TMetric: a simple and accurate work time-tracker that sets you free from tedious time reporting;
  • Toggl: lets you easily filter your time tracking data, showing you the information you need when you need it. All reports can be exported into Excel, CSV or PDF’s;
  • TSheets: keep your teams in the know with robust project management and geofencing technology. See the status of all your projects at a glance.

We will continue to create the content that can help you with this necessary transition to remote work and try to reduce the stress it causes. Take care of yourself and loved ones, stay calm and wash your hands. Meet you here, at the end of April!
